Beschreibung

As billions of aid dollars have been flourishing from the North to the South the past 60 years, many developing countries are still poor and destitute. This study, conducted in Kigali, Rwanda, argues that by giving cash to the poor, in this case through sex-work within the international aid community, local women will know how to promote development on an individual, community, and on a national level in line with the Millennium Development Goals. This study is not an advocate for sex-work as a legitimate development tool in order to achieve the Millennium Goals. It is more so a call for a new paradigm shift concerning cash-transfers in our quest for combating poverty.
