Beschreibung

In the last decade there has been growing concern about a group of hazardous compounds with endocrine activity present in the aquatic environment that cause adverse effects on reproduction, growth and development in humans and wildlife species. Keeping these facts in view, there was a need for development of new methods for the detection and treatment of these endocrine disruptors present in the aquatic environment. This research explores the development and characterization of electrochemical (bio) sensors for screening the selected EDCs in aquatic environment (Vinclozolin, Matairesinol, Bisphenol A, Butylparaben and Polycholorbiphenyls (PCBs). The present protocol includes the incorporation of principles of green chemistry and environmental friendly techniques that makes the study more interesting as well as applicable to wide range without creating much harm to the society.

Autorenportrait

Jahangir Ahmad Rather is currently working as Assistant Professor in the department of chemistry, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. My research is focused on development of bio(sensors) based on enzymes and aptamers conjugated with nanomaterials for the detection of Endocrine Disruptors (EDCs) in waste-water.
