SUBVERTING REALISM BY THE POSTCOLONY. THIS BOOK IDENTIFIED SOME SIMILARITIES AND DISSIMILARITIES IN THE IMAGINATIVE NUANCES OF BEN OKRI AND SALMAN RUSHDIE.IT EXPLAINED HOW THE ELEMENTS OF MAGIC REALISM WERE DEPLOYED TO UNDERMINE EUROCENTRIC CULTURAL BIASES.IT REVEALED THAT DUE TO MYRIAD REASONS, RANGING FROM HISTORICAL AND PERSONAL CONVICTIONS ON POLITICS, CULTURE AND SOCIETY, BEN OKRI AND SALMAN RUSHDIE CHARTED DIFFERENT STYLISTIC COURSES, ALL IN A BID TO FOREGROUND THE FLUIDITY THAT CHARACTERISED EVENTS IN THE MAGICAL REALM. THIS BOOK ALSO EXPATIATED UPON THE FACT THAT BOTH AUTHORS WERE FUNDAMENTALLY INFLUENCED BY THE CATHOLIC TENETS OF POSTMODERNISM.
