Beschreibung
The prospects for the self-assertion of EU-Europa are not looking good. In the era of Great-Power Competition, as proclaimed by the US, Europe has so far played only a secondary role. Beside its economic power the EU lacks the currencies of power that are important in this competition: nuclear weapons and a powerful military. To take stand as a global force the EU therefore depends on the question of sovereignty in the realm of foreign and security policy, as the authors show from different country perspectives.
