Emotional Intelligence has been conceived and measured in terms of self-awareness, empathy, self-motivation, emotional stability, managing relation, integrity, value orientation, commitment and altruistic behavior. In the present study, the primary school teachers working in different schools in Vellore District were taken as the sample and the size of the sample is 300. The schools selected on the basis of government, private and aided with arts and science teachers in vellore district. The Emotional Intelligence Scale Constructed and Standardized by Anukool Kyde, Sunjyat Dethe and Upinder Dhar.(2001),Vedant Publications, Lucknow. The result indicated that primary school teachers irrespective of their gender, type of management, group of study, mode of school, location of school, marital status, age and year of experiences have average level of emotional intelligence and further it indicates there is no significant difference found towards gender, type of management, group of study, mode of school, location of school, marital status, age and year of experiences of primary school teachers towards emotional intelligence.
