DEVELOPMENT IN PRACTICE: A Reader Friendly Manual for Public and Private Development Practitioners is dedicated to all people in the world who discovered that many people are still caught under the poverty trap and realised the need to economically and socially free them through development. Development is not only about the development practitioners to free the poor, but it is also about the willingness from the poor to get out poverty. A thorough understanding of the concept development and all its related terms are broadly explained in the first part of the book. To clarify all concepts presented in the first part, the book presents in its second part some practical cases on how development has been put into practice in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. This combination of the theoretical understanding of development with the case studies implemented in KZN Province, the book aims to equip all public and private development practitioners with a tool to fight against economic and social threats and to unlock all economic and social potentials in their respective entities so that poor can be released from poverty trap to take responsibility of their own destiny

Leon Katambwe has a MA Development: Studied Development and Specialised in Logistics and Transport Global at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Lecturer at Durban University of Technology and Senior Development Economist at Urban-Econ in Durban South Africa dealing with Small business development including informal trading, cooperatives and SMMEs.
