Beschreibung

DNA extraction from blood is an essential step towards various downstream processes that includes parental screening, DNA sequencing, gene cloning and other diagnostic and research methods. The book entails the optimisation of a cost-effective method for DNA extraction from the whole blood samples of humans. In this study, the original protocol by the legendary scientist- Friedrich Miescher, has been modified as such that the time and costs are substantially reduced. It has been successfully proven in the study that blood's parasite (Plasmodium) DNA can also be isolated; as evident from PCR detection of the parasite in extracted DNA samples from infected patients. The protocol defined in this study can be easily adopted by any molecular biology lab and due to its meagre cost and technical requirements, resource limited and low budget, researchers can easily reproduce it in the lab.
