Public relations and peace negotiation in the Niger Delta is a product of a doctoral research into the relationship existing among the stakeholders to the oil exploration, exploitation, and associated wealth. It uses the lens of public relations to examine why the relationship has been tainted with failures by stakeholders to achieve the needed satisfaction and cordiality since the discovery of oil in the region in 1956. It was discovered that the nature of public relations practice in the region does not fully represent the interest of the strategic stakeholders and calls for a review that provides a balance for the various associated interest to the oil business attain a dependable positive attitude towards one another.
