On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Hans Blumenberg (1920-1996), scholars in philosophy, literary studies and the history of science will be inspired by his famous topos of the Legitimacy of the Modern Age. Against the suspected illegitimacy of modern science and technology, Blumenberg traced and positioned the historical movements of theoretical curiosity and related questions that continue to stimulate reflection. By taking up this impulse, the contributions gathered in the present volume illuminate horizons of Blumenberg and create new perspectives on past and future realities.
