Background: Current national and state K-12 educational policies measure public school success with assessment results. Principals and teachers within the state that this research study took place are instructed to design curricular and instructional plans for the next school year based on school level assessment score analyses. Purpose: To explore the ways principals, teachers and council members use high-stakes assessment results for school planning related to curriculum and instruction.
