The proportion of young people to the whole population in Turkey is three times as high as in Germany. A quarter of young people in Germany has a so-called migrant background. What stories are concealed behind these figures? How are young people and their problems represented in the media and in politics? The contributions to this volume are concerned in different ways with the topic of youth in a Turkish-German context. They focus on the recent protests in Turkey as well as depictions of young people by themselves and by others in everday language, in films, documentations and books for young people as well as their position in the politics of integration.
