Beschreibung

The development of strategies and attitudes to cope with social transformations is currently at the center of pedagogical work or teacher education, especially in Luxembourg, where almost half of the population are foreigners and 59% of all pupils have a first language other than Luxembourgish. This book focuses on the narratives and professional beliefs of three Luxembourgish primary school teachers and tries to find answers to the following questions regarding these changes: How do teachers construct their professional identities in this highly complex context? On which ideologies of language, culture, identity and heterogeneity do they base themselves? How do they construct difference and homogeneity and which values and beliefs become visible in their argumentation?
