In India, value chain analyses of organic fruit and vegetables are scarce. With that in mind, a value chain analysis is employed to analyze the scope of local strategies to access and secure the continued participation of smallholder organic fruit and vegetable producers in the India domestic market. Within the framework of both qualitative and quantitative research design, rural Bangalore and the district of Kolar in Karnataka are chosen as sample areas where organic fruit and vegetables are grown. Findings of this research have implications for policy-makers and, marketing professionals in organic agriculture development, by calibrating appropriate strategies to promote smallholders' organic agriculture, marketing, and enabling environment in Karnataka, India.
