This book presents an elegant manifestation of the application of statistical mechanics to investigate four different topics in the field of condensed phase dynamics. Topics include transport through nuclear pore complex, crossing over an inverted parabolic barrier, first passage time problem in full phase space and fluctuation theorem for a classical harmonic oscillator coupled to a harmonic bath.

Rajarshi Chakrabarti is a theoretical physical chemist by training with research interests in the field of chemical, biological and soft matter physics. He obtained his PhD from the Department of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science. He is currently a post doctoral researcher at the University of Stuttgart.
