This book will give you an insight into how you can combine the grain and livestock parameters during development of a crop variety. In most cases the livestock parameters are neglected but it has significant effect for adoption of the variety by the farmers. The book then shows variability among pulses varieties for grain yield and straw parameters. The finding is exemplary to development of a variety to all types of crops that have both grain and straw value. Particularly this days crop variety development need due attention above all times with the changing climate. By doing so the biomass and quality of straw is compromised by the grain yield by scientists. The problem is aggravated for mixed farming community.

The Author was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. After completion of her high school education, she joined the then Alemaya University in September 1999 and graduated in Animal Science. She has then joined the same University to pursue her MSc degree. She is currently a PhD fellow at Adiss Ababa University, Faculty of Veterinary Science at Debrezait.
