The environment and man survival is deeply affected by the human impact on the planet. The release of toxic chemicals from industrial activities are threatening the ecological balance of the earth and the very existence of man.As an ultimate objective, the concept of sustainable development is immensely valuable. However, strategies are needed to translate conceptual theories of what sustainable development means into practical ways of achieving it over time within the corporate context.The aim of this book is to examine the factors affecting proper implementation of corporate environmental management in these companies and to proffer possible ways of improving environmental performance via corporate environmental management practice in selected companies.

Kika Helen Alalekenwi has Bsc.Hons in Accounting from the Faculty of Management Sciences, Master's degree in Environmental management and currently a PhD researcher in Environmental management from the dept of Geography and Environmental management all in the university of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She also has a post graduate diploma in Education.
