Beschreibung
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second cause of cancer death in men and the third in women worldwide. CRC arises from colonic mucosa inflammatory changes. Growing evidence shows that metabolic, immunologic, and neuroregulatory processes can affect bowel pathophysiology, but studies on these topics are few in order to give definitive evidence. The aim of this study is to improve knowledge on the link between metabolic determinants and molecular pathways of colorectal carcinogenesis.
